India defeated Afghanistan 4-3 on penalties to enter the final of the SAFF under-16 football championship and set up a clash with host Nepal.

The final will be played on Tuesday.

Both teams failed to score in the regulation time. In the tie-breaker Bedashwor Singh, Prosenjit Chakraborty, Surya Tirkey and Aaron Rodrigues found the back of the net while Krishna Pandit’s effort from eight yards hit the woodwork. — PTI
