Indian girls lost to Egypt 1-2 to finish 10th among 16 teams in the World junior under-14 tennis finals in Prostejov, Czech Republic.

The Indian team beat Russia 2-1 in the first round of the positional matches before losing to Egypt.

The team had beaten eighth-seeded Colombia 3-0 in the last match of the league after losing to US and Slovakia 0-3.

The result (ninth place): Egypt bt India 2-1 [Lamis Ailhussein Abdel Aziz lost to Vanshika Sawhney 4-6, 2-6; Habiba Asheen bt Pranjala Yadlapalli 6-4, 1-6, 7-6(4); Habiba & Hana Mortagy bt Vanishka & Pranjala 2-6, 6-0, 7-6(3)].
