ICF recorded a 2-0 win over Food Corporation of India in a league match of the IOB-CHA senior division hockey league championship, at the Mayor Radhakrishnan Stadium here on Tuesday. ICF was fastest off the blocks, going 2-0 up within the tenth minute. Both goals were the result of long sweeping balls, with Aswin playing a major role in either.

The first came about when Aswin trapped a ball from the midfield and with time at his disposal, sent a searing shot goal-wards. Iyappan provided the merest of touches to put ICF ahead in the fifth minute.

A short while later, Aswin again turned provider, with his run down the right touchline after being found by another cross-field pass opening up enough space for Iyappan to tap in to make it 2-0. Thereafter, Ashok Kumar and Pal Pandian held together ICF's defence.

Earlier, four goals from Phillip Martin helped Indian Bank thrash TNEB 11-0. Maria Stalin slotted in two goals.
