Hong Kong kept alive its hopes of retaining the Asian Rugby Sevens title by defeating Japan 24-14 in the third leg of the HSBC Asian Sevens Series in Mumbai on Sunday. India won the Shield event, overpowering UAE 22-0.
The win pushed the champion (34 points) to within one point of Japan in overall standings. The latter tops the table with 35 points (two wins and a silver). Sri Lanka move to third sport (29 points) for a bronze in the Mumbai leg at Bombay Gymkhana. — Special Correspondent
