Guntur, Secundrabad, Hyderabad and host Vijayawada have entered the semifinals of the South Central Railway inter-divisional ball badminton tournament at Satyanarayanapuram ground here on Friday.

G.V. Prasad, senior divisional engineer (central) and Pradeep Kumar, deputy chief mechanical engineer (Rayanapadu) and Ch. Amar, President, Andhra Ball Badminton Association, felicitated two National players – M.C. Jacob and V, Nagaraj for their contribution to the game.

VRS & YRN posts win

Chirala's VRS & YRN College defeated Vaddeswaram's Koneru Lakshmaiah College of Engineering by eight wickets to enter the semifinals of the Acharya Nagarjuna University inter-zonal inter-collegiate cricket tournament here on Friday.

In the league match, JKC, Guntur defeated Hindu College, Machilipatnam by 67 runs. YRS & YRN will meet V.R. Siddhartha Engineering College in the semifinal on Saturday.

The scores: Koneru Lakshmaiah College of Engineering 98 in 25 overs lost to VRS & YRN College 99 for 2 in 15 overs; JKC Guntur 159 for six in 35 overs (Satyanarayana 57, Srikanth 35, Praveen 30, Balu three for 28, Anil three for 24) bt Hindu College, Machilipatnam 92 in 30.1 overs (David 36) .

Selection trials

The trials to select Guntur District Cricket Association under-25 team will be held on November 27 at LEM School grounds, Brodipet in Guntur at 10 a.m.
