Bangalore: Govindaraj's brace helped Southern Blues hold SAI to a 2-2 draw in the Super Division league match at the Football Stadium here on Friday. Trailing 1-2 and with injury-time ticking away, Southern Blues was staring at defeat when Govindaraj capitalised on a defensive lapse and slotted the ball home seconds before the final whistle.

Earlier, Govindaraj had put Southern Blues ahead in the 25th minute, rifling in his freekick through the `wall', past a fumbling SAI goalkeeper S. Arun, who failed to collect the ball cleanly and watched it roll past the line.

However SAI struck back in the second half. In the 52nd minute, Sathyaraj headed in a cross from Arokiaraj Kenneth and later in the 69th minute, Raghavendra headed in a floater from Sudan Kumar. Southern Blues however salvaged a draw as Govindaraj found his mark in injury time.

Meanwhile in an `A' division league match, DYSH defeated BWSSB 2-1. Patterson and Dada Nabeel scored for the victors while Rohan Periera scored for BWSSB. Principal Correspondent
