HYDERABAD: Good bowling by Praneet (six for six) helped Cal Public School record a nine-wicket win over Sreenidhi International School in the Glendale Trophy (under-14) cricket tournament here on Monday.

The scores: Kennedy School 102 (Afzal five for 18, Swamy three for seven) lost to All Saint’s HS 103 for five.

All Saint’s HS 142 for six (Tanmay Agarwal 46, Daniel 37 not out, Siddarth 37) bt Pranava School 133 (Surya Prakash 47).

Sreenidhi International School 52 (Prakit 33, Praneet six for six) lost to Cal Public School 53 for one.

Ragya, Monika shine

Ragya Naik of Word & Deed School and Monika of St. Francis School won the boys’ and girls’ under-12 category races respectively in the 20th annual, C. Devender Yadav memorial road run organised by Athletics Coaching Academy here.

SAI gesture to SCF

Sports Authority of India donated three synthetic turf strips to Sports Coaching Foundation (Masab Tank) in recognition of the latter’s contribution to promote sports amongst the under-privileged.

It may be recalled that SCF is the first organisation to have an astro-turf wicket in early 90s besides being the first to import a bowling machine.

“We are grateful to the SAI official Dr. Chugh for his kind gesture and only hope this would improve the training facilities,” K. Sai Baba, general secretary of SCF said.

City boy in Indian team

C. Santosh Kumar of Hyderabad Hockey Association will represent India in the junior hockey series (under-21) between India and Pakistan to be held in Pakistan from November 11, according to a press release here.
