Bangalore: Karnataka left-arm spinner K.P. Appanna, who was part of the India under-19 team's recent tour of New Zealand, termed his experience as an exposure to different conditions.

"The conditions were very different, especially the weather, it used to change every one hour and the wind never stopped and in those cold conditions it was difficult to get a feel of the ball especially in the mornings," Appanna said.

The junior team drew the three Test series 1-1 and won the one-day series 2-1.

The left-arm spinner, who was part of a squad led by leg-spinner Piyush Chawla, played a lone match. "I played the third Test at Christchurch and the pitch was a flat one on which I got three wickets. I just played that one game, wish I had played more," Appanna said. "Now I am looking forward to the Ranji Trophy all-India knock-out one-day tournament. Hope to do well there," the 18-year old said.
