KOLKATA: Sourav Ganguly, upset at being repeatedly ignored by the National selectors in recent times, wants to prove his worth in County cricket. The former India captain will be turning out for Northamptonshire as a replacement for Chris Rogers who has been called up to play for Australia `A'.

"I am going to enjoy myself on the cricket field and determined to perform to the best of my ability,'' Ganguly told the media at the Eden Gardens here on Wednesday after turning out for East Bengal in a local cricket tournament. Despite Ganguly's hard-hitting 76, his team lost to Kalighat.

Replying to a question, Ganguly said he wanted to be in touch with the game which he loved the most. "I am determined to make the most of the opportunity of playing for Northamptonshire,'' he added.

Ganguly leaves for London on Thursday morning. Special Correspondent
