The favourites, including Railways’ world champion Bobby Singh and Murali entered the final round of the sixth RMCO National senior bodybuilding championship at the Bolghatty Palace here on Saturday evening.

Bobby, appeared to be the judges’ favourite as he performed the mandatory poses, in the 80kg event. With a record number of entries, the day’s pre-judging turned out to be a long-drawn affair, playing havoc with the schedule. But with quantity, the quality of the fare here appears to have gone up a few notches.

Meanwhile, five Kerala bodybuilders — Suraj (55kg), Rajesh and Lijith (both 60kg), Riyaz and Abdulla (65kg) — qualified for the Sunday’s final which is expected to begin at 6.30 p.m.

There were no surprises in the women’s National fitness physique championship too as the leading women danced their way into the title round without much fuss. — Special Correspondent
