The fourth E.K. Nayanar memorial Gold Cup all-India football tournament kicks-off at the Corporation Stadium here on Friday night with Air India taking on Kerala XI.
Eight teams are in the fray for the league-cum-knock-out event. The top two teams from each group will qualify for the semifinals, which will be played on March 17 and 18. The final is slated for March 20. The tournament will be inaugurated by former international Magan Singh Rajvi.
Groupings for preliminary league:
Group I: Mumbai FC, Southern Samity (Kolkata), Army XI, Shillong Lajong FC.
Group II: Air India, Kerala XI, B.N. Railway (Kolkata), M.E.G. (Bangalore). — Principal Correspondent
