ACA ‘B’, powered by unbeaten 50 by Vamsi, defeated ACA ‘C’ by five wickets in the Challenger Cup tournament organised by Andhra Cricket Association at Kadapa on Friday.

The tournament is organised to pick the Andhra team for the South Zone limited overs tournament to be held at Goa in February.

ACA ‘C’ 218 in 47.3 overs (Jyothi Sai Krishna 51, Aswin Hebbar 50, Ajay Kumar three for 37, Sarath three for 37) lost to ACA ‘B’ 222 for five in 39.1 overs (Vamsi 50 n.o, A.G. Praveen 30 n.o).

Nine share lead

Woman Fide Master N. Raghavi, Vijaykanth, Viswanath Prasad, Sai Krishna, Cadet Master M. Prachand, Ramana Babu, C. Reddy, Srinivasa Rao and A. Antony are leading the pack with four points in the Warangal International Fide-rating chess tournament held at Vishnupriya Gardens at Hanamkonda on Friday.
