Arrows FC registered a comfortable 2-0 victory over Hindustan Eagles in the St. Joseph’s-CFA senior division league here on Thursday.

The first chance to open the scoring fell to Arrows’ M. Soosai Raj in the form of a header off a cross from the right. However, Soosai, with just the goal at his mercy, headed wide. He made amends in the 42nd minute when he found the back of the net off a corner.

In the second half, Eagles came close to scoring when Jacken Sebastin fed a clever through ball to K. Ganesh Prabhu on the right. It needed an impressive diving save from the Arrows goalkeeper T. Arun to thwart the equaliser by Prabhu.

In the 64th minute, Arrows’ Chikko James released Morgan Justice on the left who sent in a low cross and an easy tap-in by Arohizundu Joel made it 2-0.

The results: Arrows FC 2 (M. Soosai Raj 42, Arohizundu Joel 64) bt Hindustan Eagles 0; RPF 1 (D. Santhosh 43) drew with FCI 1 (Kolandhai Yesu 63). — Sports Reporter
