BANGALORE: Delhi Public School (Mathura Road) played two matches on the day and emerged winner in both. If the match against Hyderabad Public School was easy meat in the morning, the evening encounter against Bangalore's Mallya Aditi International was tough until the host team decided against making a match of it.
The Sree Kanteerava Indoor Stadium had a good sprinkling of Mallya Aditi Intl (MAIS) students voicing their support. And true to expectations the host did dominate in the first two quarters. But the defence crumbled and this was the leeway that the Delhi side was looking for. The tall Humayu Khan and Bilal Ahmed converted three pointers at will in the third and fourth quarter to turn around a 35-41 half-time deficit into a 100-84 victory.
Delhi Public and MAIS thus finished in that order from Group B in the super league while from Group A Everest Public (Ludhiana) and St. Epherms (Kottayam) made the grade.
Don Bosco (Mumbai) and Hyderabad Public School will fight for the seventh and eight positions while Salem's St. Paul and Don Bosco Kolkata will figure in the classification matches for fifth and sixth slots.
