Thiruvanathapuram's talented Jaindhan siblings Anirudh and Anjali won a double each in the Malabar Cements-RSC AITA junior national-ranking tennis tournament at the Regional Sports Centre here on Thursday.

The results:

Boys: Under-16 singles final: Anirudh Jaindhan (Ker) bt S. Srijith (TN) 4-6, 6-4, 10-2. Semifinals: Srijith bt Rehan Kumar (TN) 6-3, 6-2; Anirudh bt Akash Parayil (Ker) 6-2, 6-1. Doubles final: Vikram Ramesh/Rijul Rauf (Ker) bt Anirudh Jaindhan (Ker)/S. Srijith (TN) 6-2, 1-6, 10-4. Under-14 singles final: Anirudh Jaindhan (Ker) bt S. Srijith (TN) 6-1, 5-7, 6-4..

Girls: Under-16 singles final: Anjali Jaindhan (Ker) bt B.S. Sumapriyanga (TN) 6-3, 6-4. Doubles final: Honeysha Raj/B.S. Sumapriyanga (TN) bt Anjali Jaindhan/Gaayatri Shankar (Ker) 6-4, 6-2. Under-14 singles final: Anjali Jaindhan (Ker) bt B.S. Sumapriyanga (TN) 6-3, 6-2 .

LNCPE triumphs

At Thiruvananthapuram, LNCPE, Kariyavattom won the title in the Kerala University inter-collegiate women's hockey championship held at the LNCPE here on Thursday.

LNCPE crushed SN College, Kollam 5-1 in the last league match to maintain an all-win record.

However, SN College (Kollam) came second after defeating SN College (Chemphazanthy) 3-1.

Trials for Kerala team

The trials to select the Kerala teams for the National Women Games will be held at the Central stadium on November 15 and 16.

Trials would be conducted in athletics, basketball, volleyball, gymnastics, table tennis, badminton on November 15 while the trials for swimming, hockey, kho-kho, kabaddi, handball and tennis would be conducted the next day.

Those interested in taking part in the trials should report at 8 a.m. at the Central Stadium. However, swimmers should report at the Nanniyode swimming pool on November 16, said a release from the Kerala State Sports Council.

State TT

The Kerala State table tennis championships will be held from November 25 to 27 at the Parish Hall of Jerusalem Marthoma Church under the aegis of Pathanamthitta district table tennis association. Competition will be held in men, women, youth, junior, sub-junior, cadet, mini-cadet and veteran categories respectively. More than 350 players from all the districts in the State are expected to take part in the three day tournament.
