Diptayan Ghosh (under-14) and M. Karthikeyan (under-12) continued to hold out Indian hopes of a world title while being among the leaders after the seventh round of the World Youth chess championship at Caldas Novas, Brazil, on Thursday.

Even as the chances of an Indian medallist among the girls diminished considerably, Debasis Das (under-18) and V.S. Rathanvel (under-10) kept alive their medal hopes.
