On the occasion of the 91{+s}{+t}foundation day of the Catholic Syrian Bank (CSB), G. Padmanabhan, Executive Director, Reserve Bank of India, inaugurated the adoption of 91 eco-clubs at schools and colleges by the bank, by handing over saplings to Shiby Antony and Deepak Raj, eco-club coordinators at St. Thomas Thope High School, Thrissur. CSB would be associating with the adopted eco-clubs to create awareness among students and public of the need for environmental conservation, reducing CFC emissions, reducing use of plastics, undertaking social forestry and so on.

As part of its corporate social responsibility activities, CSB presented solar study lamps to students from poor families on the occasion.

Mr. Padmanabhan delivered the 91 {+s} {+t} foundation day lecture on ‘Recent Development in Payment and Settlement Systems.' He requested banks to leverage the technology platform so as to ensure that a reliable, economic and efficient payment system was available to the common public. He cautioned the public against various online frauds. Customers should take necessary precautions while using technology based products such as ATMs, Internet banking, mobile banking and so on, he said.

He appreciated Catholic Syrian Bank for the various corporate social responsibility activities undertaken by it.
