Badminton Association of India’s (BAI) week-long coaches’ clinic will be held at Pullela Gopichand Badminton Academy at Hyderabad from March 23 to 30 in which 36 shortlisted candidates from across the country will take part, according to BAI secretary (events) K.Ch. Punnaiah Chowdary here on Saturday.

He said the candidates would be given a certificate thus making them eligible for the BAI assignments both in India and abroad. “The criteria are that the candidate should have been an international player or a NIS certificate-holder with national exposure as a player,” he added.

Punnaiah said that Indian legends like Prakash Padukone, Vimal Kumar and P. Gopi Chand, along with senior coach Ganguly Prasad, BWF officials from Malaysia and Indonesia will conduct both theory and practical classes.” — Principal Correspondent
