Hyderabad: The Chief Minister's Cup State-level sports meet featuring 15 disciplines will be held at the Gachibowli Sports Complex and other venues here from Sept. 30 to Oct. 4.

The State's best sportspersons awards named after Rani Rudrammadevi (best female athlete) and Alluri Sitaramaraju (best male athlete) besides best coaches awards (men and women) would be presented during the meet.

Competitions will be held in athletics, basketball, football, hockey, weightlifting, handball, kabaddi, kho kho, volleyball, boxing, swimming, weightlifting, carrom, ball badminton, softball and body building.

Easy win for CVR

CVR College of Technology scored a nine-wicket win over Hi-Point Institute of Technology in the third Bandari Srinivas inter-engineering colleges cricket tournament organised by Sports Coaching Foundation at Chevella near here.

The scores: JBREC 94 for four bt Anwar-ul-Uloom 93 for five; Mahaveer IT 113 for three (Nitin 38) bt Gokaraju IT 84 for eight; MGIT 75 for four lost to VJIT 76 without loss (Aditya 40 not out);

Ayaan IT 142 for one (Sayeed 59) bt Moghal IT 67 for five; TKRIT 90 for four bt St. Mary's 44 for five; Hi-Point IT 63 for seven lost to CVR College of Technology 64 for one (Rajkiran 41).

HPS (Begumpet) triumphs

HPS (Begumpet) scored a thrilling 62-60 victory against St. Andrews High School in the boys final of the fourth Dr. Emily Emanuel inter-school basketball tournament here. The teams were locked 30-30 at the break.

The winners were richer by Rs. 6,000 each and the runner-up by Rs. 4,000. Ignatius Michael was adjudged best player in the boys section.

The scores: HPS (Begumpet) 62 (Rajasekahr 25, Bharath 24) bt St. Andrews HS 60 (Ignatius Micahel 20, Aditya 12, Santosh 12).

Two wins for Dell

Dell defeated CA 1-0 and also beat Genpact 2-1 in the two matches it played in the Royal Cup corporate football championship conducted by Bonusports here on Monday.
