HCA yet to get clearance

Hyderabad Cricket Association President Arshad Ayub says they are yet to get security clearance from the authorities concerned with regard to hosting the Champions League T20 main draw matches on September 25 and 27 here.

It may be recalled that the organising committee had shifted the matches, originally allotted to Kolkata, to Hyderabad and Bengaluru because of heavy rains.

In the wake of this decision, the HCA said it was mandatory on its part to seek the security clearance as the matches were not originally scheduled at Hyderabad.

“We are waiting for the final word from the authorities. We are hopeful and other than that, I can't say anything else,” Arshad informed The Hindu on Wednesday.

“The problem is the current political situation made the senior officials, who matter a lot in this regard, very busy. However, we are trying to meet them tomorrow and get the final word,” Arshad explained.

Interestingly, the South Australian Redbacks, which is listed to play at Hyderabad per the revised schedule, will be training on Thursday .
