The Musli Power Champions Volleyball League, Kerala’s first inter-collegiate league with big prize-money which was scheduled to begin at Pala’s St. Thomas College on Monday, has been postponed.

“We are postponing it owing to the indefinite bus strike in the State from Sunday night,” said Ashish Joseph, Chairman, Champions League, on Sunday. “We plan to start by next week, provided the bus strike gets over by then. Most of the colleges are likely to be hit by the strike and without the students watching it, there is no point in conducting the league.”

The Champions League, organised by the Physical Education Teachers Association of the Mahatma Gandhi University, is an eight-college affair involving Kochi’s Sacred Heart, Kothamangalam’s Mar Athanasius, Kolencherry’s St. Peter’s, Pala’s St. Thomas, Pathanapuram’s St. Stephen’s, Mannanam’s Kuriakose Elias, Aruvithura’s St. George and Chelanur’s Sree Narayana. Matches are planned on a home-and-away basis.
