Renu Maurya's sparkling show, which fetched 22 points, helped Mumbai's Central Railway defeat Hubli's South Western Railway 52-47 and enter the women's final of the Nest-Carmel Trophy all-India basketball tournament at the floodlit Carmel Stadium, Aluva, on Saturday.

Central Railway was trailing 23-32 at half-time and was in arrears till the third quarter. But, led by Renu and Manisha, who contributed 13 points, the Mumbai-based side surged ahead in the last quarter and went on to win.

Later, ONGC defeated Kochi's Central Excise 84-78 and entered the men's final. Pradeep Roy top-scored for ONGC with 28 points.

Men: ONGC, Dehradun 84 (Pradeep Roy 28, Mohit Bhandari 16, Murali Krishna 15, Sreedhar 13) bt Central Excise, Kochi 78 (Shinumon Augustine 18, Subhash Shenoy 15, T.S. Abhilash 14, Monish Wilson 10).

Women: Central Railway, Mumbai 52 (Renu Maurya 22, Manisha Dange 13) bt South Western Railway, Hubli 47 (K. Smitha 15, L.S. Savitha 14).
