A buoyant Kerala takes on host Jammu & Kashmir in the fourth round match in Group C of the Ranji Trophy at Jammu on Thursday.

Kerala fresh from a nine-wicket win over Tripura at Thalassery meets Jammu which is also on a high after registering 17-run win over Andhra at Anantapur.

Kerala which has enjoyed a rare good start to its campaign this season is facing a tricky opponent which defeated Kerala on a turning track at Perinthalmanna last season.

Parvez threat

The visitor will be wary of J&K’s captain Parvez Rasool who spun out Kerala last season.

For Kerala, left-arm spinner C.P. Shahid has been the standout bowler. Shahid spun a web around the Tripura batsmen to fashion an easy win. Off-spinner Vinoop Manoharan has also chipped in with crucial wickets.

The medium pacer Prasanth Parameshwaran is slowly finding his rhythm, but V.A. Jagadeesh, who was the highest run-getter for Kerala last season, has not given the team the start that was expected from him.

The team is hopeful that Jagadeesh overcomes his bad patch and Sanju Samson, who has hit two sparkling centuries, carries on the good form.
