A brace by Deepu ensured a facile 4-2 win for ASC against Ashish Ballal Hockey Academy (ABHA) in the KSHA Super Division hockey league here on Thursday.

Deepu struck with the opening goal in the 30th minute and followed it up with another goal three minutes later to give ASC a 2-0 lead. ASC piled on the pressure through Tutti, who scored in the 48th minute, while an own goal sealed ABHA’s fate. Two late goals from ABHA’s Sarabjit Singh and Mohammad Nizamuddin could only minimise the damage.

In another match, BEML (Bangalore) played out a draw against Pioneer Corps Training Centre (PCTC). PCTC’s Cyprind Aind gave his team an early lead before Kiran slotted home in the 22nd minute to help BEML draw level.

The results: BEML, Bangalore 1 (Kiran) drew with PCTC 1 (Cyprind Aind); ASC 4 (Deepu 2, Tutti, own goal) bt ABHA (Sarabjit Singh, Mohd. Nizamuddin).
