Boys Sports Company-ASC defeated Veda Vignana Maha Peetha 3-2 on penalties to win the Airtel Rising Stars under-16 football tournament here on Sunday.
Regulation time in the ‘grand final’ failed to produce a goal before Robin Singh, Gautam Singh and Niraj Singh converted from the spot in the shoot-out to hand BSC-ASC victory.
Four ‘Rising Stars’ were chosen from Bangalore at the end of the competition: Premchand, Niraj Singh (both BSC-ASC), Azad and Kamshon (both VVMP).
They will attend a five-day selection trial in Goa, alongside players from six other Indian cities.
A total of 30 players will train under coaches from Manchester United Soccer Schools before a team of 11 will be chosen to spend a week in Manchester.
