Bhushan (16 points) carried his fine form into the final to help Bishop Cotton Boys School clinch the junior boys’ category in the inter-school basketball tournament, conducted by Clarence High School here on Thursday. Bhushan had scored 11 points in his team’s last match of the league stage to set up a victory against New Horizon Public School.
Veda starred in Mallya Aditi’s tight win in the senior girls’ final with 16 points, while host Clarence High School rode on Abhijeet’s 13 points to finish on top among senior boys. Bishop Cottons registered a double when its junior girls’ team put it across New Horizon.

Kavita posts win
Reserve Bank of India (RBI) duo of Kavita Somanchi and Malathi Ramesh posted comfortable victories in the pre-quarterfinals of the women’s singles on the fifth day of the Rotary Bangalore Indiranagar-organised State-level carrom championship at the Sree Kanteerva stadium here on Thursday.
While Kavita, former International, won 25-0, 25-4 over Bharathi, Malathi blanked Seema Bhat 25-0, 25-0.

Greenwood International School will face Government Sports School in the final of the Mahindra under-14 inter-school youth football challenge here. Both teams progressed to Friday’s summit clash after prevailing on penalties in their semifinal matches on Thursday.

The National open karate championship will be held on Nov. 24 and 25 at the Koramangala Indoor Stadium here.
