Abhinav Bindra shot 592 and finished 43rd in a field of 81 shooters in men’s air rifle in the international air gun shooting championship in Munich on Thursday. He had a series of 99, 99, 100, 98, 99 and 97.
The competition was originally scheduled to be held in the new format of decimal score, but since there was construction in progress for a new hall and new equipment were in the process of being installed, the old format was used for the qualification.
However, the final was held in the new format, by which the eventual gold and silver medallists end up shooting 20 shots instead of 10. Illia Charheika of Belarus won the gold with a total of 207.8 while Sergey Kruglov of Russia won the silver medal with a total of 207.5.
