: The CAB ‘B’ team won the first league match of the S.K. Acharya Memorial Challenger cricket tournament beating the Bengal under-19 team by a whooping 226 runs on the second and final day at the Bengal Cricket Academy ground in Kalyani on Saturday.

Chasing CAB ‘B’s score of 393, the under-19 boys was bowled out for 166 as medium-pacer Debabrata Dutta excelled with figures of three for 45.

CAB U-19 will play CAB ‘A’ on Monday and Tuesday.

The scores : CAB ‘B’ 393 bt CAB U-19 166 all out in 50.2 overs (D. Dutta three for 45).

Bengal U-19 wins

The Bengal under-19 women’s side cruised past its Tripura counterpart by 56 runs in an East Zone league match at Jamshedpur on Saturday. In another match, Odisha defeated the host Jharkhand by three wickets.

The scores : Bengal U-19 156 for nine in 50 overs (Paromita Roy 35, Saika Ishaque 32; Sulakshna Roy two for 26) bt Tripura 100 in 34.5 overs (Rizu Saha 33; Ambika Guha three for 11) by 56 runs.

Jharkhand U-19 116 in 41.3 overs (Nilam Yadav 22, Sana Saif 44) bt Odisha 119 for seven in 43 overs (P.M. Mohanty 64) by three wickets.
