Basudevpur Palli High School thrashed Purnanagar Purna Chandra High School 8-0, and Laichutala Vivekananda A.V. edged past Mohispota Boys’ High School by a solitary goal in the opening matches of the Pailan Bankim Cup, the schools’ tournament, at Bijoygarh here on Thursday.
Handball championship
The 10th State mini handball championship for boys and girls (under-12) will be held in Howrah from Friday to Sunday. More than 300 players and officials from almost all the districts of West Bengal, including Cooch Behar, Jalpaiguri and Purulia, will be participating in this tournament.
The State team for the upcoming National mini championship will be selected after the meet.
