Arvind Bhat entered the men’s singles second round of the Dutch Open badminton without breaking a sweat at Almere, the Netherlands on Wednesday.

The 15th-seeded former National champion was to take on a qualifier but was given a walkover. He will next take on Hsu Jui Ting of Chinese Taipei.

In women’s singles, Tanvi lost to seventh-seeded Czech Kristina Gavnholt 21-13, 21-14 in a 31-minute match.

India’s mixed doubles pair of Pranaav Jerry Chopra and K. Maneesha crashed out in the first round losing to Indonesian duo of Irfan Fadhilah and Weni Anggraini 21-16, 21-14. —PTI
