NEW DELHI: Former Delhi captain K.P. Bhaskar has done well as a match referee in the domestic circuit last season.
According to NCA sources, Bhaskar has secured the best reports from a majority of captains. The Board does not rate the match referees, just as it does not identify the best umpire, but Bhaskar has come in for praise for his work.
Known for his technical excellence and some exceptional close-in fielding, Bhaskar has also been lauded for his contribution as a batting coach with the NCA.
“I am only trying to keep in touch with the game and serve it to the best of my abilities after retirement. I thank my employers for their support,” said Bhaskar, who works with Steel Authority of India Limited.
Recently, Bhaskar was appointed match referee for an under-19 tournament in Kuala Lumpur under the aegis of the Asian Cricket Council. — Special Correspondent
