Bengal will send a 24-member contingent to Patiala to participate in the 17th Federation Cup National athletics championship to be held at the National Institute of Sports from April 23 to 26.

Women: Himashree Roy (100m, 200), Ruma Sarkar (100, 200), Debashree Majumdar (400), Priyanka Mondal (400), Asha Roy (100, 200), Ava Khatua (400), Titir Hore (400), Fulan Khatun (800, 1500), Sabina Khatun (5000, 10000), Baby Khatun (5000, 10000), Soma Jana (400m hurdles), Mallika Mondal (high jump), Sipu Mondal (long jump), Piyali Pal (long jump), Bhairabi Roy (triple jump), Sharmila Dey (steeplechase), Smritikana Manna (steeplechase), Sushmita Singha Roy (Hept), Babli Mitra (pole vault).
RKG snooker qualifier
The RKG snooker masters’ East Zone qualifying tournament will be held at the Bengal Rowing Club from Saturday to April 6. The top four finishers from the third leg will qualify for the Masters to be held in Mumbai.
Top cueists like Sourav Kothari, Shahbaaz Adil Khan (both PSPB), Ayush Kumar (Punjab), Pushpinder Singh (Railways) along with some of the best players from Bengal like Shyam Jagtiani, Suniti Damani, Aamir Hussian, Vishal Sahay, Akram Khan, Ankit Kariwala, Ravi Goenka, Shoaib Khan are expected to make the tournament a very competitive one.
Up to round of 32 all the games will be played in best of five frames, pre-quarterfinals, quarterfinals and semifinals will be played over best of seven frames and the final will be a best of nine-frame contest. — Special Correspondent
