Baldwin Boys High School won the title in the under-17 section of the Baldwin Shield inter-school football tournament defeating Bishop Cotton HS 2-0. Saif and Ben were the scorers.

Bishop Cotton, however, emerged champion in the under-14 section beating Cathedral HS 2-1. Ricky netted a brace for Bishop Cotton and Gulang redcued the margin for Cathedral HS.

In the under-12 final, St. Joseph's High School outplayed Baldwin 3-0. Ninnit (2) and Pranaya (1) scored the goals.

The results: semifinals: U-12: Ryan Intl 5 bt St Joseph's 0; u-14: Bishop Cotton 2 (Ricky 2) bt St Joseph 0; Cathedral HS 1 (Siddarth) bt Baldwin 0.

Under 17: Baldwin 5 (Saif 2, Sharif, Waqar, Yusuf) bt St John's 0; Bishop Cotton 1 (Trishal in sudden death) bt St Joseph's 0.

SSR VM in last eight

Sri Sri Ravishankar Vidya Mandir (SSR VM) and Govt. Sports School, Vidyanagar, romped into the quarterfinals of the inaugural Mahindra Youth Football Challenge inter-school under 14 football tournament at the BUFC ground here in style.

While Sri Sri Ravishankar routed Kumarans Children Home 4-0 the Vidyanagar side looked convincing in its 2-0 win over Little Flower.

Udagedara wins

Tony Udagedara, with 42 points, won the 0-15 handicap category in the Golfity golf charity tournament, organised by the Rotary Club Bangalore Cantonment, at the Karnataka Golf Association links on Friday.

N. Prakash, with 38 points, was the runner-up.

SAI beats Postal

SAI defeated Postal 3-2 in a State ‘A' division hockey league match at the KSHA Stadium here on Saturday.

The results: SAI 3 (Rakesh, Ganapathy and Bidappa) bt Postal 2 (Naveen Kumar 2); BSNL 1 (Deepak) bt MEG Boys 0 .

Bopanna bags title

Sajan Bopanna bagged the title in the B.S. Sampath Kumar memorial handicap snooker championship which concluded at the KSBA hall.

In the final, Bopanna defeated N. Sunil 42-28, 35-36, 43-14, 43-16.
