Bajrang claimed silver on the second day of the Asian wrestling championship at Astana, Kazakhstan, on Thursday, losing 11-0 in the 61kg freestyle final to Iran’s Masoud Esmael Pour. Bajrang had defeated Seungchul Lee of Korea 7-4, Noriyuki Takatsuka 7-4 and Nazamomdakh Lehamgarmaa of Mongolia 7-1 to reach the final.
Satyawart Kadian (97kg freestyle) defeated Alihan Djumaev of Kazakhstan in the repechage to claim bronze.
Amit Kumar Dhankar, who lost to Somirsho Vokhidov in the semifinals and made it to the 70kg repechage round, but went down fighting to Ken Hosaka of Japan 3-6.
Vinesh (48kg women) came up short against Yuimi Lee of Korea in the repechage bout.
