: Title contender Australia began its ICC women’s World Cup campaign defeating Pakistan by 91 runs in its Group B league opener, here on Friday. Opting to bat, the Aussie women could manage only 175 in 46.1 overs but bowled with purpose to skittle Pakistan out for a paltry 84 in 33.2 overs.
Veteran all-rounder Lisa Sthalekar contributed a useful 32 and later bowled nine overs of controlled off-breaks to return with figures of two for 19. Sarah Coyte picked up three wickets and scored 35 runs.
