KOCHI: Ernakulam defeated Thrissur 2-1 while Thiruvananthapuram blanked Kannur 2-0 on Monday to enter the final of the K.C.M. Mather inter-district tennis championship.
Earlier, Thiruvananthapuram defeated Kollam 2-0 and retained the women’s title.
The results: Men’s semifinals: Ernakulam bt Thrissur 2-1 (Rynold Timothy bt Raja Ram 6-0, 6-0; Mansingh Thapa lost to George Varghese 3-6, 4-6; Rynold & Jaco T. Mathew bt Raja Ram & George Varghese 6-2, 6-4).

Rynold Timothy, who got a walkover from former National junior champion Jaco T. Mathew, won the men’s singles title in the Ernakulam District tennis championship here on Sunday.

Sujith wins title
Kannur’s Sujith Kumar and Thrissur’s T. P. Raja Ram won the under-45 and under-55 singles titles in the all-Kerala veterans’ tennis tournament which concluded at the Mundakayam Club and Kuttikanam tennis courts on Sunday.
