New Delhi: Tejaswini Sawant finished fourth in the women's air rifle event on a disappointing second day for Indian shooters at the Munich Air Gun championships in Germany.
Tejaswini scored a total of 500.2 (398+102.2) on Friday while Suma Shirur and Avneet Kuar Sidhu failed to make the cut with scores of 393 and 391 respectively.
Harveen, who won the junior women's air pistol gold on the Thursday, finished fifth in the second match of the category. Harveen fired a total of 477.7 (378+99.7). She shot a series of 91, 94, 95, 98 in the qualification.
Shweta Chowdhary, the silver medal winner behind Harveen in the first round, could not qualify for the finals after she shot 371 (95, 92, 92, 92).
Soudaminee Gavankar scored 391 to finish a lowly 24th in the air rifle junior women's event. In the men's air pistol, Samresh Jung's score of 576 placed him on a lowly 29th while Jaspal Rana (569), Satendra Kumar (568) and Vivek (567) finished behind him. - PTI
