CHENNAI: The new Williams JPH1 Formula Two car, which was unveiled at Brands Hatch in London attracted a number of 2009 drivers from all around the world, including Andy Soucek, Julien Jousse, as also India’s Armaan Ebrahim.

Speaking after seeing the car run for the first time, the consensus was one of extreme excitement and anticipation for the first official test at Snetterton in May.

Andy Soucek, who has raced in Formula Renault 3.5, Formula Superleague and GP2, was the first driver to hail the new car: “Having raced in series like GP2, I was expecting big things from the F2 car, and it didn’t disappoint.

“It looks great, and I’m really looking forward to proving myself in these equal machines come the start of the season. I will be pushing all out for a win.”

Armaan, who flew out from India especially for the unveiling said “It looks very impressive and it’s quick.”

Armaan said “I just can’t wait to get into it and drive it myself. The name ‘Formula Two’ has opened up a lot of eyes back home in India,” he added.
