CHENNAI: Kerala Sportspersons Association (KESPA) celebrated its seventh annual day function here on Saturday, by honouring two promising international stars Dipika Pallikal (squash) and G. Gayathri (athletics).
“I am really honoured that I am recognised by KESPA,” said Dipika.
Hurdler Gayathri, who won one gold and two silver medals in the Commonwealth Youth Games in Pune, said she has been preparing for the 2010 Commonwealth Games in Delhi.
Gayathri’s coach Nagarajan of St. Joseph’s Prime Sports Academy, was also honoured.
W.I. Davaram, Patron, KESPA, hailed Dipika and Gayathri as outstanding talents who have the potential to scale greater heights. Shiny Wilson, President, KESPA, delivered the inaugural address and Sebastian Xavier, Secretary, KESPA, proposed the vote of thanks. — Principal Correspondent
