SRIVILLIPUTHUR: St. Joseph's College of Engineering, Chennai won the Kabaddi title, defeating Periyar Maniammai College of Technology for women, Vallam, Thanjavur 62-35 in the final in the 24th Tamil Nadu inter-Engineering Sports (TIES) women's games meet organised by Arulmigu Kalasalingam College of Engineering at the college ground, Krishnan Koil near here on Tuesday.

In the third place match, Velammal Engineering College, Chennai beat Government College of Technology Coimbatore 42-8.

In table tennis, S.S.N. Engineering College, Chennai, won the title defeating Athiyaman College of Engineering, Hosur 2-0 in the final.

In Chess, Velammal College of Engineering, Chennai and St.Joseph's College of Engineering tied with 14.5 points each. But Velammal won the title on better progressive score and St. Joseph's was places second. P.S.G. College of Technology, Coimbatore, finished third with 14 points and Thiagarajar College of Engineering, Madurai finished fourth with 12.5 points.

Sri Venkatesa College of Engineering, Chennai and S.R.M. Institute of Science and Technology entered the tennis final.

Karunya Institute of Technology, Coimbatore, S.R.M. Institute, Chennai, Periyar Maniammai College, and St.Joseph's College Engineering entered the basketball semifinals.
