Coimbatore: The qualifying rounds of the JK Tyre Indo-Sri Lanka racing challenge scheduled for Saturday at the Kari Motor Speedway did not take off as the drivers turned up late for their practice sessions. However, the organisers decided to reschedule the practice timings and conduct the qualifiers on Sunday morning.The drivers from both India and Sri Lanka made the best use of the situation and quickly got off to work with their FLGB cars.
The main races will consist of 15 laps each with the opening race featuring eight drivers from India and Sri Lanka. In the second race, however, the Sri Lankans will field an extra driver. The Lankan team will also see former international Rohan De Silva and upcoming racers in Romani De Silva, Dinesh Jayawardene and Dejan Zoysa in action.
