BANGALORE: The Union Bank of India will be the main sponsor of the 3-Star All India junior ranking badminton tournament scheduled to be held here from September 4 to 8 at the Karnataka Badminton Association's K. Raheja Badminton Stadium.
The tournament, which will be conducted by Padukone Sports Management under the aegis of BAI and KBA, carries an overall prize money of Rs. 3 lakhs.
The qualifying rounds will be played on September 4 and 5 and the main rounds from Sept. 6.
Over 600 players from all over the country will be participating in the boys' and girls' under-10, under - 13, under-16 and under-19 categories.
Performance in this tournament will be considered for selection of the Indian team for the World junior championship, later to be held in Korea.

The Shimoga District Taekwondo Association will conduct the State championship for seniors on August 5 and 6 at the Sri Adichunchanagiri Samudya Bhavan, Shimoga. The medallists in the championship will be called for a State coaching camp to train for the senior Nationals, scheduled to be held in Chennai from September 15 to 17.
