KOCHI: Indian Overseas Bank, probably the best team in the country on current form, comfortably got past BSNL (Thiruvananthapuram) 68-49 in a men's Group `A' match and marched into the semifinals of the Geojit Cup all-India invitation basketball tournament at the Rajiv Gandhi indoor stadium here on Wednesday.

It was a close game initially but the Chennai team, which has internationals S. Robinson and Mihir Pandey in its ranks, warmed up nicely in the second quarter and soon raced away to an easy victory. The win was IOB's second in the four-team group and the loss, BSNL's second, dashed the Thiruvananthapuram team's hopes of making it to the semifinals.
