Chennai: It is was a mixed beginning for Neo Sports, the newly launched television channel that telecast the NKP Salve Challenger Series.

The production team was happy with its coverage and the response from the cricketers, the BCCI, and the viewers, but the event was shown only in certain pockets of India. Neo, which is a pay channel, is yet to reach an agreement with the cable operators in several parts of the country.

The matches were seen only in some areas of Mumbai, New Delhi and Kolkata.

Daljit Singh, Production Controller, Nimbus Sports, said, "Nimbus has a four-year agreement with the BCCI for exclusive production and telecasting rights for all domestic and international matches in India. Neo is its sister concern. For the first time in India, a domestic game was covered with 15 cameras. We also used the `Jimmy Jib' a 45-feet mobile crane with a camera."

He was optimistic about domestic cricket attracting sizeable viewership."
