KOTHAGUDEM: Defending champions Hyderabad and Kurnool women entered the final of the 32nd State senior inter-district basketball championship in contrasting styles at the Prakasam Stadium here on Saturday.

Hyderabad outplayed Karimnagar 46-9, while Kurnool defeated a spirited Guntur 59-54.

Guntur finished the first half with a slender lead. But the second half witnessed a rejuvenated Kurnool team with Savitha and Padmavathi sinking baskets at regular intervals. Lack of proper teamwork proved detrimental to Guntur's fortunes as Poornima (31) failed to shuffle the ball effectively.
