Young Stars' Wilkins Victor, India Pistons' A.C. Prathiban, and Globe Trotters' W. Anthony Dhas struck telling blows on the first day of the 10th round of the TNCA first division cricket league, which began at various venues here.

Victor claimed six for 33 with his off-spin and combined with left-arm spinner D. Vasu (four for 24) to help Young Stars bowl ICF out for 61. Victor then hit 77, adding to half-centuries from T. Dushyanth (58) and I.T. Thabarak Baik (83 batting).

Pistons off-spinner Prathiban returned figures of six for 72, taking his tally to 47 wickets, the highest by any bowler this season. Indian Bank made 251 for nine, thanks to S. Karthik (59), T. Selvaganapathy (59), and S. Avaikkarasan (53 batting).

Dhas destroyed Grand Slam with his maiden five-wicket haul and fellow seamer Sunil Sam supported him with four wickets, allowing Globe Trotters to gain control by stumps. Also in a strong position was Jolly Rovers, which reduced UFCC (T. Nagar) to 199 for eight at IIT-Chemplast.
