Jolly Rovers completed a commanding performance in the eighth round of the TNCA first-division league, defeating defending champion Globe Trotters by an innings and 25 runs on the final day at IIT-Chemplast.
Rovers dismissed Trotters for 221 in the second innings on Thursday. Seamer J. Kaushik and off-spinner M. Prabhu shared six wickets.
L. Suryapprakash shone at Murugappa, compiling 157 (249b, 17x4, 1x6) to help Grand Slam secure the first-innings lead against Indian Bank. Suryapprakash's partnerships of 126 with R. Rohit (60) and 202 with K. Shri Vasudeva Das (105) enabled Grand Slam make four more than Bank's 389.
T. Dushyant made 108 (224b, 13x4) for Young Stars, but couldn't prevent IOB from earning a 169-run first-innings lead at SRMC. Meanwhile at MAC, Aruna held Vijay off to ensure it finished with five points for the first-innings lead.
