Malappuram's Malabar Special Police HSS blanked Neriamangalam's Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalaya 3-0 and emerged as the Kerala champion in the Mahindra Youth Football Challenge under-14 inter-school tournament at the Maharaja's Stadium here on Monday evening.

The MSP made the most of a shaky defence and a jittery goalkeeper and scored two quick goals midway through the first session. P. Sufaid Ali (12{+t}{+h}minute) and Khaleel ul Rahman (15th) were the scorers.

The twin strike left Jawahar Navodaya, the Kochi leg champion, shell-shocked while MSP gained in confidence.

Mohammed Sajid Khan, a prolific scorer for the school and the district, made it 3-0. Sajid Khan walked away with the tournament's best player and man-of-the-final awards.

The victory gave MSP a berth in the national event which will be held in Bangalore later this year.

The champion schools of five other States will join MSP in the national tournament. — Special Correspondent
