Chennai: Ajay Rau of Royal Madras Yacht Club is the only Indian sailor to take part in the World laser radial men’s championship to be held in Karatsu, Japan from August 5 to 10.

Harish scored an unbeaten 56 to set up a 15-run win for Sathyabama University in its match against AMS Engineering College in the Velammal State-level inter-college Twenty20 tournament held recently.

The scores: Sathyabama University 174 for five in 20 overs (Harish 56 not out) bt AMS Engineering College 159 in 19.4 overs (Adithya 69).

Velammal College of Engg., Madurai 173 for seven in 20 overs (R. Ganeshan 55) bt SA Engg. College 115 in 20 overs (P.V. Arun Chandrakumar 32).

Kamban Engg. College, Thiruvannamalai 85 in 20 overs (Anand 45, Abilash four for 20) lost to RMK Engg. College 87 for three in 9.3 overs (Venkat Vasan 45).

Sir M.Ct.M HSS triumphs

Sir M.Ct.M HSS (Chennai) and Sri Sarada Vidyalaya (Salem) clinched the boys’ and girls’ titles in the inter-school State-level basketball tournament, organised by Sir M.Ct.M HSS, here on Tuesday.

The results (final league): Boys: Sir M.Ct.M. HSS (Chen) bt St. Peters HSS (Chen) 35-28; Santhome (Chen) bt Kamala Subramaniyam 47-40.

Girls: Sri Sarada Vidyalaya (Slm) bt Lady Sivasamy (Chen) 41-32; Vidyodhaya (Chen) bt Lady M.Ct.M 35-14.

Saitu, Kim win

C. Saitu (10) with 41 points and M.S. Kim (13) with 41 points won the Division I and II events respectively in the Chakravarthy Trophy golf tournament at the Cosmo-TNGF course here recently.

W.U. Hur (12, 39 pts) and S.H. Lee (13, 41) finished second in Division I and II.

Table tennis tournament
