Mysore: Helped by opener Karan’s stroke-filled 80 (9x4, 3x6) and his valuable 132-run second wicket partnership with skipper M.R. Anand (45 not out), host Karnataka Advocates registered a thumping eight-wicket win in their league tie over Andhra Pradesh High Court. It also topped Group ‘B’ in the all-India Advocates tournament played at the Maharaja’s College grounds here on Wednesday.
Punjab & Harayana HC topped Group ‘A’ with three wins and Madhya Pradesh HC finished runner-up (two wins and one loss). Karnataka topped Group ‘B’ with three wins while Andhra Pradesh HC finished runner-up (two wins and a loss). All the four teams have entered the semifinals.
The scores: Group ‘A’: Delhi HC 186 for six in 25 overs (Rakesh Chahar 108 not out) bt Rajashtan HC 162 in 24 overs (R.S. Meena 57, Mukesh five for 28).
Madhya Pradesh 154 for five in 25 overs lost to Punjab & Harayana 155 for one in 20.3 overs (Sanjeev Tikka 76 not out, P.S. Hundal 59 not out).
Group ‘B’: Andhra Pradesh HC 147 for seven in 25 overs (V. Reddy 44) lost to Karnataka Advocates 148 for two in 23.4 overs (Karan 80, M.R. Anand 45 not out).
Supreme Court 160 for five in 25 overs (Kunal Seth 42) bt Uttar Pradesh 159 for eight in 25 overs (Atul 46 not out).
